Rules of Conduct for SloFurs events and Terms of Service

The events are held with the intention to create a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere for participants. We try to avoid as many formalities and written rules as possible, depending on our participants' common sense. Nonetheless, we have noticed a need to prepare and publish these basic rules to avoid unnecessary complications regarding organization, participant conduct, or law abidance. As these rules are merely an outline, they contain guidelines for certain expected situations. In all other cases, the first three general rules apply. Most of the time, common sense will help you decide what is acceptable and what is not. If in doubt, ask a member of the organization team.

During each event, the latest published rules at the start of the event are in effect.

I. General rules

  1. All members of the organization team and organizational sub-teams (referred to as the organizer) reserve the right to alter these Rules of conduct at any given time without prior announcement. Furthermore, we reserve the right to the full interpretation of these Rules of conduct, and in rare instances, their adaptation. The Rules of conduct are not debatable during events. In situations not covered by these Rules of conduct, only the organizer has full authority and power to make decisions. The organizer can reject any person's registration without explanation. Decisions made by the organizer are final.
  2. Any actions that interfere with the planned course of organization of an event, contradict the event's purpose, cause direct discomfort, in any way endanger or harm any participants, the venue, the surroundings of the event, or the public near the event will result in an immediate demand to leave the event. During the event, the valid legislation of the Republic of Slovenia applies, and any transgressions against the law will be immediately reported to the authorities. Furthermore, house rules set by the venue at which the event is held also apply. Personal disagreements that do not concern all participants will not be regarded by the organizer unless they lead to a violation of the Rules of conduct.
  3. Everyone is responsible for their own actions, even when under the influence of alcohol or other substances. The organizer is not liable for any injury or damage suffered by an participant during an event. All participants agree that their attendance may be revoked at any time (the participant will be demanded to leave the event), without reimbursement of costs, in case of a violation of the Rules of conduct.
  1. Participants need to be at least 18 years old on the first day of the event.
    1. On some events, an exception can be made, and minors who are at least 15 years old on the first day of the event may attend the event during a set time period. This exception only applies to events for which it has been clearly stated to apply in the official announcement for the event, published by the organizer, along with a set time period.
    2. Some events can be of public nature (for example, a city walk). Due to the nature of the event, anyone can register for or participate in such an event without age restrictions.   2. Only a registered person with a confirmed registration may attend a SloFurs event, unless stated otherwise.
  3. You are required to visibly wear a badge or any other form of identification (hereinafter referred to as a badge) that you receive upon arrival at the event, so that we can identify you as a participant of the event. Impersonating another person by wearing their badge is not allowed.
  4. Prior to registration, you must provide accurate personal information, including your first and last name, date of birth, and residential address. In special cases, the organizer may also require additional information. Before receiving your badge, you will be required to identify yourself with a personal identification document to the organizer. If the organizer discovers the provision of false information, they will correct the information or, at their discretion, revoke your registration and potentially issue a ban from future events.
  5. Only the organizer can confirm the registration. Registrations from individuals who are banned from participating will be rejected. In the case where payment of participation costs is required prior to the event, it is a condition for confirming the attendance. The organizer is not obliged to refund the costs in case of non-attendance, unless there is a prearranged agreement specifying otherwise. In the event of a refusal on participation due to rule violations, the participant is not entitled to a refund of costs.
  6. The participant, upon registration, confirms that they agree to the rules and conditions of the event.
  7. At the beginning of the event, the participant will be required to sign a written statement agreeing to the rules and conditions of the event. The participant has the option to choose the duration of the statement:
    1. the statement is valid only for one event and will be destroyed 10 days after the conclusion of the event or
    2. the statement is valid indefinitely and applies to all future event participations, eliminating the need for signing the statement before each participation. The participant can revoke the statement at any time, but not earlier than 10 days after the conclusion of the last attended event.
If attendance is subject to payment, we offer the following payment methods:
  • bank transfer to the account of Društvo SloFurs,
  • payment methods provided by the Stripe system (such as debit or credit cards, SEPA payment, etc.),
  • cash payment or payment by debit or credit card in person at the event.
The available payment method for the event depends on the organizer's decision. All payments are binding and final, as defined in Section V (Ticket Refunds and Complaints).

In the event that a participant is unable to attend the event but has already paid for the ticket, they can transfer it to another person at no additional cost. In this case, they must notify us by email of their intention, and in the message, provide the email address of the user to whom they are transferring the ticket. The designated user must have a confirmed registration for the same event; otherwise, we will not be able to transfer the ticket.

Tickets are not transferable from one event to another.

In accordance to Slovenian law, the consumer is not entitled to withdraw from the contract for leisure services in which the contractor undertakes to fulfill his obligation at a specific date or within a specified time limit. This means that all purchases are binding and final no matter how you completed the purchase (in person or online). In other words; you cannot return any purchased tickets for any event and demand a refund for them no mater where it's being held.

In the case that an event is cancelled or has its date or location changed, the seller is responsible for handling the situation and refunds. Upon the occurrence of these circumstances, the seller will inform ticket buyers as soon as possible regarding refund options. If the buyer does not request a refund within 14 days of these changes being made public, he/she agrees with the aforementioned changes and after that period he/she is again not entitled to a refund.

In the event of a refund, ticket holders will receive a refund, without any further request, in the same way they paid the tickets. This invalidates the ticket.

Minimal or justified changes to the event are reserved, e.g. shifting the start of the event for a few hours of altering the programme of the event. In the event of cancellation, change of the date or location of the event or change in the program, any additional costs you may incur (e.g. travel, hotel, delivery, payment, etc.) will not be reimbursed.

The seller does his best to ensure that all prices on the website are accurate, but errors can still occur. If the seller detects a mistake in the ticket price already purchased by the buyer, the seller will inform the buyer as soon as possible and give the buyer the opportunity to re-confirm the order at the right price or cancel it. Should the seller fail to contact the buyer, the buyer agrees to treat the seller's ticket as canceled. If the buyer chooses to cancel the ticket at the wrong price after his payment has already been made, the seller will refund them.

Complaints are resolved by the ticket buyer and the seller within the complaint period, which is eight days from the receipt of the written complaint by the complainant. Within this period, the seller is obliged to provide the complainant with a written or oral response to the submitted complaint.

  1. Events are public in nature and are often held in public places, so behavior should be appropriate for the public setting.
  2. Be polite and patient towards other participants.
  3. Respect any individuals' personal boundaries. If someone does not wish to have physical contact, do not attempt to initiate it. If in doubt, ask first.
  4. You are responsible for any damage you cause.
  5. If someone requests that you stop an activity related to them, cease immediately.
  6. Displays of affection should be within the bounds of good taste.
    • Brief kisses or hugs are permitted.
    • The event is public and takes place in a public area or venue, so behavior should be appropriate accordingly. Touching intimate or inappropriate body parts is not allowed. French kisses or any similar actions involving touching are also not permitted.
  1. Participants must dress appropriately for the environment. Nudity that exceeds standard swimwear is not suitable. Various uniforms and costumes that are not furry-themed are also not allowed (e.g., military uniforms or masks, scuba diving gear, etc.).
  2. Wearing explicit fetish gear or displaying sexual toys is not permitted. Collars, bracelets or other gear, which can be considered as a fashion accessory is permitted. Leashes, anatomically correct costumes, inflatable fetish costumes or other gear, inappropriate for public display is not allowed.
  3. Carrying weapons at events is not permitted, even if you have a permit. The exception applies to law enforcement personnel or security personnel who are on duty during the event.
  4. Replicas, models, or toys that resemble weapons are allowed only after consulting with the organizer. The organizer may prohibit the use of such items if they could pose harm to other participants, the venue, or the surroundings of the event.
  5. In case of doubt, consult the organizer, who has full decision-making authority.
  6. In the event of unauthorized use of the aforementioned accessories or items (from points 2, 3, 4), the organizers may confiscate them until the end of the event. Attempting to use confiscated accessories or items further will result in being expelled from the event and possibly being banned from attending future events.
  1. In all public areas of the event, unless explicitly stated otherwise, the display of any materials or content suitable only for adults is prohibited.
  2. Exchanging mature content should be done discreetly in a closed group so that the content is not exposed to other participants.
    • At events at which minors are permitted to participate during a set period of time, exchanging mature content is forbidden during that period.
  1. Bringing alcoholic beverages to the event is strictly prohibited. Only the organizer or an authorised person may provide alcoholic beverages.
  2. Drink responsibly; being under the influence of alcohol is neither an excuse nor a mitigating circumstance in case of rule or law violations.
  3. The organizer is not responsible for individuals under the influence of alcohol. In the event of severe intoxication, the participant will be handed over to the emergency medical services. If such trend continues, the participant will be banned from future events.
  4. Smoking cigarettes is not allowed indoors or in areas clearly marked as non-smoking. Disposing of cigarette butts and used matches is only allowed in designated non-flammable containers.
  5. The use of fire, sources of fire (lighters, matches, gasoline, etc.) should not be near flammable substances or objects. Smoking in the vicinity of flammable substances or objects is also prohibited.
  6. In the event of a fire, the person directly or indirectly responsible for starting or causing the fire, and not the organizer, will be held liable for any damages.
  7. Possession, distribution, sale, or use of prohibited drugs is strictly forbidden and will be promptly reported to the appropriate authorities. Additionally, the participant will be immediately expelled from the event and banned from attending future events.
  8. The organizer does not cover any expenses or holds any responsibility in case a participant has to be handed over to the emergency services (police, medics), due to the misuse of substances. Expenses and responsibility fall on the participant.
  1. The organizer reserves the right to prohibit photography and recording (audio and/or video) at the event venue.
  2. The organizer also reserves the right to all and any photographs, video or audio content taken at the event and can demand to see the material. If the organizer deems the material inappropriate, they can demand its deletion.
  3. Participants may use the material for non-profit purposes. The organizer can still demand deletion of certain pictures or videos after the event is over, if they find it inappropriate.
  4. By attending the event, you agree that the organizer may use any photographs, audio, and video recordings for promotional purposes.
The organizer determines sanctions based on the severity of the violation.
  1. For minor violations, you will initially receive a warning from the organizer. A system of two warnings applies to minor violations, with the first being a notice or informative warning, and the second being a warning prior to sanctions.
  2. More serious violations or repeated minor violations will result in a demand for the participant to leave the event. The organizer may also, at their discretion, issue a permanent ban from attending any future events.
  3. The organizer has the right to impose special conditions on individual participants in order to maintain order and enforce the rules and conditions.
  4. If you believe you have been unjustly sanctioned, please contact the lead organizer.
  5. In cases of violence or if a participant refuses to leave the event upon the organizer's request, the organizer reserves the right to, in exceptional circumstances (if the participant poses a threat to other participants, organizers, or other individuals or animals), involve the appropriate authorities to remove the participant from the event. This will result in a permanent ban from attending future events.
  6. In the event that involvement of the relevant authorities is necessary, the violator is responsible for covering the costs.
